If there was one major thing I have learned through my education, it is that the selection of a teacher is directly correlated to the success in the class.
An example that I like to give is the time when I received a C+ on a paper I wrote when I was a junior in high school. I sought out my English teacher because I disagreed heavenly with her analysis of my paper. We had a lengthy discussion as to why I received the grade I did, and I left it at that. In retrospect, I think I wanted her to prove she didn’t just get tired of reading papers and start assigning grades based on some pre-defined notion.

Recently I had to travel to Boston for a business conference and I had the opportunity to spend some time with an old college friend of mine. One of the first questions he asked me is, “what are you working on?” I told him about a new website I had put together with the help of programmers, writers, marketers and educators from all over the world called www.collegematchingservice.com.

When I was attending college in Michigan, I flew into Orlando to attend a 5 day leadership conference being held at a five star resort. I paid three hundred dollars for the entire trip. You cannot buy a one-way plane ticket for that much money.
Later that same year, I attended a 3 day leadership conference in Manhattan at the University of Columbia with all expenses paid.
